Dear Tony

Congratulations on a beautiful book and Thank you for the kind reference to Merton Poets which Russell will be so pleased to see. Thanks for generous donations to the funds of the group, we did well on Tuesday this week, from your generosity. I'll take more copies to Pamelas house for reading Long Poems tonight and to Lesley's house for Whatley Writers next week.

I think quite a few people will like the book so if you want me to have more copies before you go away to Russia and those countries I would be happy to have another twenty copies and if I sell them to people outside Merton Poets I need to know whether to still give the money to Merton Poets.

I am sorry you suffered so much with teachers in the past and hope I didn't contribute to sufferings.

I see you didn't have the name of the printer on the book. In case anyone is interested as he has done it so well, can you give me the address? 1200 pounds is quite a good price and includes a very good cover. Also Who designed the cover, was it the printer? He should have made a note of the designer. It really is good.

I enjoyed re-reading Garlic poem, very very much.

We read some of your poems at Morden Hall park lst year and the year before, I have read some and Russell has read some, it was when you disappeared for a while!

Can I have permission to include poems from the book in an anthology if we do another one in Merton, please? It would be good to put published poems in the book which we shall do in the next year or two, and can I keep last nights poems aside in the file for the next book?

I look forward to enjoying reading more of the book and showing it to people. Your poetry has always given us a lot of pleasure and so to have it in a collection is wonderful. You are already much admired and enjoyed in Merton's groups.

All the best

Ann
